KEY DESIGN FEATURES
Two buildings designed: Shopping mall & Retail box • 2000 parking spaces on two levels • 100 shops, restaurants, cafes & other retail spaces • Event spaces • Entertainment • Multiplex cinema • Large roof terrace with garden
The entire complex will be recognizable because of its unique design, which dominates the area in size, forms and materialization. Both buildings are enclosed in a shell of triangulated “Alucobond” panels. The main part of the Shopping Mall is coated with airy foils based on ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) foil, thin membranes forming a mild light volume, achieving the effect of an artificial cloud that descended to the slope above the city. Combined with large media screens and backlighting, they provide a dynamic and simultaneously lightweight façade that will stand out in the surrounding environment. Two large piazzas with openings connecting spaces through two floors play a focal role in the interior. Between them there are wide promenades with a “zen” garden in the middle, open to the level of the illuminated roof lanterns.
